Seth is a graduate of St. Thomas More High School (2002), University of Louisiana Lafayette (B.S. 2006), and University of Cincinnati (M.S. 2009). Following his undergraduate studies and while earning his Master’s degree, he worked as a patrol deputy with the Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office.
Seth is a 2012 graduate of Louisiana State University’s Paul M. Hebert Law Center. While in law school, he served as a member of the Moot Court Board and was named the Top Oral Advocate during the Law Center’s Tullis Moot Court Competition.
Prior to joining Becker & Hebert in 2018, Mr. Mansfield practiced with a Lafayette-based law firm where he accumulated experience in Personal Injury and Property Damage Litigation, Insurance Defense, Coverage Litigation, and Commercial Litigation.
He is admitted to practice in all Louisiana state courts as well as the United States District Courts for the Eastern, Middle, and Western Districts of Louisiana. He is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association, the Lafayette Parish Bar Association, the Louisiana Association of Defense Counsel, and the John M. Duhe, Jr. Inn of Court.
Mr. Mansfield is also an active member of Lafayette Volunteer Lawyers and participates regularly in Counsel of Call, Pro Bono Protective Orders, and the Homeless Experience Legal Protection (HELP) Program. As a result of his volunteer work, he has been awarded the Louisiana State Bar Association Pro Bono Publico Award (2016), the Louisiana State Bar Association Young Lawyers Division Pro Bono Award (2014), the Louisiana State Bar Association Pro Bono Century Award (2014-2016), and the Lafayette Volunteer Lawyers Outstanding Attorney Award (2013-2017).
He has been married to Lauren Smelker Mansfield since 2009. They are the parents of four children, Cole, Charlotte, Sadie, and John.
